Get It On The Green First

Using a putter from heavy rough near the green is tricky
business and is not a good choice for most golfers. Use
a lofted golf club, and hit down so that you can catch
the golf ball as cleanly as possible. Open the face of
the golf club so that the golf ball pops up and the
grass does not close the face at impact. Use the potter
only when you can get a clean strike on the back of the
golf ball.
