Un-cocking the wrists too early, as most amateurs do,
will cause a scooping action with the golf club,
preventing the proper compression of the golf ball.
In
order to consistently
hit
down with the golf club and compress the golf ball, use
this lag drill. Put a golf ball six inches behind the
ball you're hitting and put a tee an inch ahead of your
ball. If your downswing is steep enough, and if you
sustain your wrist cock until impact, you'll miss the
rear ball, hit your ball and clip the tee.
