When you are just off the
green, evaluate your options for getting the golf ball onto the green in the easiest
way. A good rule of thumb is to use your golf putter if you can, chip if you cannot putt, and
then pitch if you cannot chip. Your choice depends on the pin placement, lie of
the ball, and surface of the grass between you and the green.
